When And why did you become a SCORE Counselor?
I became a SCORE counselor in March 2015, shortly after my retirement as a practicing attorney.   I retired from my position as a shareholder in a San Francisco law firm in order to devote more time to community and charitable activities.   Working as a SCORE counselor, which enables me to utilize the experience and knowledge I gained during my career to help entrepreneurs and small businesses, is exactly the type of activity I had in mind.

Business Background:
During my 38-year career as an attorney, I worked with banks and other companies on a wide variety of financing, business and real estate matters.   I have written and lectured extensively to both attorneys and business people about those subjects and testified on multiple occasions before California legislative committees on pending bills.  I have also served on the boards of directors of three nonprofit corporations, and was president of one of those boards for five years.  I continue to serve as a director of two of those corporations.

Educational Background:
Juris Doctor, 1977, University of California, Los Angeles School of Law; Bachelor of Arts, 1974, University of California, Los Angeles.
